Turkey is not just for Christmas 3rd January 2008
Brits looking to invest in overseas property in 2008 should eye Turkey as the country's economy continues to be fast growing and government-backed development of its tourist infrastructure progresses.
Turkey, "with its dynamic and growing economy" saw Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) increase by 106 per cent in 2006, over 2005, according to a government report with "the experience of more than 15,000 foreign capital firms "ensuring "a stable and reliable investment environment".
There are no signs of a let-up in this thriving economy and once its application to join the EU is completed, Turkey will be the largest member state. Its sublime south coast resorts, with sweeping sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, have become increasingly fashionable and visitor figures from overseas have boomed in recent years.
Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels is currently offering elite apartments, with an attractive leaseback scheme, at its five-star Adonis Residences & Club at Akbuk, in the Didim region - just 65km from Bodrum airport - an area considered by investment pundits to be a rising star of the Aegean coast.
Paul Smith, director of CLC Estates, the estate agency arm of Club La Costa said: "These luxury apartments represent an excellent property investment opportunity in terms of anticipated capital growth and are advantaged by an all-year-round season, as well as low taxes. The area is one of outstanding beauty, with some of Europe's best beaches, and the resort is a few short steps from the beach."
Property prices in Turkey remain lower than in other more established European holiday hotspots and the cost of living is one-third that of the UK. Didim is a government designated 'Tourism Development Area' with low-density development including luxury hotels and a championship golf course. Much of the new road infrastructure has been completed and its beaches enjoy a backdrop of hills with protected pine forests and olive groves.
In addition to having everything tourists look for from a sunshine beach destination, the region is close to important ancient ruins and Turkey's rich cultural history adds a further dimension to holidays here.
Club La Costa, with a reputation for quality-built holiday homes in Spain and the UK, is offering the apartments furnished and decorated to its hallmark interior design standard, with all modern conveniences. The resort is planned to include two swimming pools, a health and beauty spa, fitness centre, restaurants, shops, supermarket and even mini-golf, a mini-marina and an open-air cinema.
